TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - It's been almost two days, the city of Batam and its surroundings have been showered with rain with light to heavy intensity, causing a number of areas to be flooded.

This condition is predicted by Forecaster Stamet Hang Nadim Batam to occur in the next one to two days.

It is estimated, rain with moderate intensity like this will last until Monday (4/1/2021)," said Forecaster Metrology Station, Hang Nadim, Fauzan Latif. 

For shipping activities in the Riau Islands region, sea waves are quite high, namely in the waters of Bintan, North Lingga, Bangka, Natuna and Anambas.

"People who carry out activities at sea should be careful," he ordered. 

The Meteorological Station Forecaster, Hang Nadim Batam, also asked people who living in coastal areas to always be aware of tides and waves. 

"The maximum sea tide has the potential up to 3 meters. People should remain vigilant," he said. 

Meanwhile, for flight activities, the average flight visibility is 1 kilometer.
