Battery and CVR Casing Black Box of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 Aircraft Found
Previously, another part of the black box, namely the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), was also found on Tuesday (12/1/2021) by Dislambair.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Commander of the 1st Fleet Command, Admiral TNI, Abdul Rasyid said that the black box cockpit voice recorder (CVR) section of the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 black box had been found in the Thousand Islands, Friday (15/1/2021) afternoon.
"We've found the casing. We've found the battery or beacon. We just have to look for the CVR memory," said Rasyid in Kompas TV's Breaking News, Friday.
For that, his party continues to deploy a team to find the whereabouts of CVR memory. He said the Indonesian Navy's dive team would return to descent at 17.00 WIB.
CVR memory parts, he said, are made of resilient materials. So, he hopes, the condition of the memory can be found in an intact condition soon.
Rasyid believed that the CVR could be found immediately considering that the battery had been successfully evacuated.
He also hopes that the CVR in the next 2-3 days can be found.
On the 8th dive, Dislambair found a section that records flight data.
FDR is currently on the National Transportation Safety Committee for the data reading process.
