Batam has Rice Fields, Been Harvested Twice During the Pandemic

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Batam City is synonymous with industrial cities and large factories. 

This impression has been imprinted on ordinary people who are just getting to know it. 

Besides being known as an industrial city, Batam also has rice fields.  

On this island you can see rice fields without having to go to Sumatra and even Java. 

You can see a rice field in the Batam Agrowisata Jambu Marina area. 

This area managed by BP Batam, has at least had twice rice harvests, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The location is on Jalan Raya Marina City, Tanjung Riau Village, Sekupang District, Batam City, Riau Islands Province. 

Tribunbatam.id had the opportunity to see directly the rice harvest at Batam Agrowisata Jambu Marina which is managed by Ismayudi, Saturday (20/2/2021) morning. 

This activity was also attended by Deputy Head of the Batam Business Entity (BP), Purwiyanto, Head of the BP Batam Public Relations, Promotion and Protocol Bureau, Dendi Gustinandar, and a number of other BP Batam employees. 

In this place, there are several mini-sized rice fields. 

To make it easier for visitors to get around to see the rice up close, the manager made a platform on it. 

Not only that, the manager also created several Instagramable photo spots in this place.

Still on the same land, between the rice fields, one another is surrounded by guava plants which are the hallmark of this tourist spot. 

The manager of Agrowisata Jambu Marina, Wahyudi said, the current rice harvest is the second time during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the first harvest was in May 2020.
