TRIBUNBATAM.id, MAKASSAR - Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono Argo, said the explosion in the Makassar Cathedral Church area on Sunday (28/3/2021) injured 14 people.
Based on the information obtained, it was found that the motorbike had been destroyed and several body parts were thought to belong to the perpetrator.
The victims were a number of church security and church congregants who on mean suffered wounds on the neck, chest, face, hands and feet.
"There are 14 victims who are currently under treatment and are being handled by doctors," said Argo in a press conference on Sunday (28/3/2021).
Argo said the explosion occurred at around 10:20 WITA at the church gate.
Argo also said that in related to the incident, the South Sulawesi regional police together with the Makassar Police immediately carried out the Crime Scene (TKP).
Argo said that the perpetrator allegedly wanted to enter the church area through the gate.
However, when the perpetrator arrived, the Mass at the church was over.
Allegedly, seeing the large number of people leaving the church, the perpetrator then activated the explosion in front of the church gate.
