TRIBUNBATAM.id - Indonesia asked for help from Singapore and Australia which have a submarine rescue ship to search for the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine which lost contact in the north of Bali Island, Wednesday (21/4/2021) morning. 

The TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto hopes that the submarine can still be found. 

Hadi said the submarine was thought to have disappeared in waters about 60 miles or 95 kilometers from the north of Bali Island at 03.00 WIB this morning. 

It is feared that the submarine made in Germany in 1979 sank. There are allegations, the ship is now in a trough at a depth of 700 meters.

Initially, the KRI Nanggala participated in the scenario of a missile shooting exercise in the Bali sea. 

The exercise, which is planned to be attended by the TNI Commander and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL), Admiral Yudho Margono, will be held on Thursday (4/22/2021). 

KRI Nanggala allegedly drowned while rehearsing for a missile firing exercise. (*)
