TRIBUNBATAM.id, RIAU ISLANDS - The Task Force for Handling Covid-19 and Economic Recovery in the Riau Islands Province released the latest data on the development of Covid-19 in Riau Islands on Saturday (15/5/2021) or the third day of Eid al-Fitr 1442H.
The head of the Riau Islands Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Arif Fadillah, said that there were 194 new patients added.
These patients have accumulated from six regencies / cities in the Riau Islands, namely Batam, Tanjungpinang, Karimun, Lingga, Anambas Islands, and Natuna. Only Bintan Regency has no additional new cases.
With this addition, the number of patients who were confirmed positive for Covid-19 in Riau Islands reached 13,198 people.
"20 people in Batam City, 24 people in Tanjungpinang City, 23 people in Anambas Islands Regency, 59 people in Karimun Regency, 50 people in Lingga Regency, and 18 people in Natuna Regency," said Arif.
Meanwhile, the number of recovered patients also increased by 75 people. Until now, the number of recovered patients in Riau Islands has reached 11,288 people.
"12 people in Batam City, 44 people in Tanjungpinang, 1 person in Anambas Islands Regency, 10 people in Karimun Regency, and 8 people in Lingga Regency," said the Riau Islands Provincial Secretary.
He continued, there were 3 patients who died due to exposure to Covid-19. The three patients came from Tanjungpinang City, Karimun Regency, and Lingga Regency.
There were also active cases of Covid-19 in Riau Islands, which increased by 116 people. Thus, the number of active cases in Riau Islands remains 1,673 people.
Arif also invited all Riau Islands people to always maintain health protocols.
"The Covid-19 pandemic is not over, let's apply health protocols. Love yourself, your family and the whole community," he said.
