Data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Task Force) until Sunday (5/23/2021) shows that there were an additional 5,280 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The addition has caused the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to now reach 1,775,220, as of the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.
This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force through data received on Sunday afternoon.
Data can also be accessed by the public via the Covid19.go.id and Kemkes.go.id sites, with updates appearing every afternoon.
The patient recovered and died
The same data shows that there are additional patients recovering due to Covid-19. Within a day, the number increases to 3,550 people.
Thus, the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered in Indonesia to date has reached 1,633,045 people.
However, the number of patients who died after being exposed to Covid-19 also continues to grow. In the period 22-23 May 2021, 123 Covid-19 patients died.
Thus, the death rate due to Covid-19 reached 49,328 people since the beginning of the pandemic.
With this data, currently there are 92,847 active cases of Covid-19.
Active cases are patients who are still confirmed positive for the coronavirus, and are undergoing treatment in hospitals or independent isolation. (*)
