5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes West Halmahera, BMKG: No Tsunami Potential

TRIBUNBATAM.id, NORTH MALUKU - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurs at 134 kilometers northwest of West Halmahera, North Maluku, Friday (9/24/2021) at 13:36 this afternoon.

BMKG reported that the coordinates of the earthquake were at 2.19 north latitude and 126.72 east longitude. 

The earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers. 

Until this news was released, BMKG stated that this earthquake did not cause a tsunami.
