TRIBUNBATAM.id, YOGYAKARTA - Mount Merapi again released hot clouds of avalanches on Saturday (12/18/2021) at 4:43 pm.
The sliding distance of hot avalanches is 2,000 meters to the southwest.
"Hot clouds avalanches at Mount Merapi on December 18, 2021 at 16:43 WIB," said Head of the Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG) Hanik Humaida in a written report, Saturday (12/18/2021).
Based on BPPTKG data, hot clouds of avalanches were recorded on a seismogram with an amplitude of 35 mm.

The duration of the hot cloud was recorded at 135 seconds.
"It is observed that the column height is 400 meters leaning to the west. The sliding distance is 2,000 meters to the southwest," she said.
Until now, BPPTKG is still setting the Alert status (level III) for the activity of Mount Merapi.
The current potential hazard is lava avalanches and hot clouds in the southeast-southwest sector for a maximum of 3 km to the Woro river and 5 km to the Gendol, Kuning, Boyong, Bedog, Krasak, Bebeng, and White rivers.
Communities in the area of Mount Merapi are asked not to carry out any activities in areas of potential danger.
