TRIBUNBATAM.id, JAKARTA - Tuesday (1/4) night, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, again announced the new findings of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 case in front of the media crew.

When it was said that the number 252 Omicron cases were found in Jakarta, the media crew rumbled, shocked and worried about the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Jakarta.

"Omicron in Jakarta has reached 252," said Riza.

Carrying data sheets, Riza read out the data on the spread of the Omicron cases in Jakarta, the majority of which came from imported cases.

There are at least 239 recorded Omicron cases in Jakarta through foreign travelers from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and the remaining 13 cases are local transmissions.

"All (Omicron patients) are at Wisma Atlet and RSPI Sulianti Saroso," said Riza.

In order to avoid a third wave, Riza asked Jakarta residents to comply with health protocols, especially wearing masks when doing activities outside their homes.

He also asked travelers from abroad to Indonesia to remain disciplined in wearing masks so as not to bring the virus, which was first discovered in South Africa, into Indonesia.
