TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said the government provided electric buses for tourism routes to Borobudur Temple, Malioboro and Prambanan Temples.

The tourist quota will also be limited to destinations to Borobudur Temple, which is 1,200 people per day.

In addition, the entrance fee to Borobudur now starts at US$100 or IDR1.4 million for foreign tourists, while domestic tourists are IDR 750 thousand.

"Especially for students, we only charge IDR 5 thousand," Luhut wrote in an upload on his official Instagram account, quoted on Saturday, (6/4).

According to Luhut, this step was taken as an effort to maintain the preservation and richness of the history and culture of the archipelago.

All tourists are also said to have to use a guide who is a local resident.

In addition, Luhut said, starting today, a trial of the use of electric buses as shuttle buses for tourism vehicles will be carried out.

"The bus route includes Borobudur, Malioboro and Prambanan," he said.

He hopes that the use of these zero-emission buses underscores Indonesia's commitment to cleaner air.
