Citayam Fashion Week - The Citayam Fashion Week phenomenon in the Dukuh Atas area went viral because of the quirky fashion styles dominated by young people from Depok, Citayam, and Bojonggede.

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno appreciated the creativity of young people in creating the Citayam Fashion Week (CFW) activity which is currently viral.

However, Sandiaga regretted the lack of traffic management in the area, causing a very long traffic jam.

Especially, due to the proliferation of illegal parking on the side of the road that hinders pedestrians and motorists.

Although the impact of the presence of Citayam Fashion Week is considered positive for the economy and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, Sandiaga reminded that traffic order would not be disturbed.

According to him, there needs to be coordination from the local government to provide alternative public spaces as a means of showing these young people's actions in the fashion sector.

Sandiaga said, the Citayam Fashion Week phenomenon is a form of democratization of the fashion sub-sector that displays the creations of the younger generation in the capital city.

So, it is hoped that these activities will not only last seasonally or for a moment.

"I want them to have the ability, so that it is sustainable and encourages the fashion sub-sector," said Sandiaga.

So, as a form of support, Kemenparekraf is ready to provide a forum for Citayam Fashion Week teenagers with various training and assistance.

One form of support, continued Sandiaga, is through the offer of a Tourism Polytechnic scholarship.

Menparekraf also pinned his hope that in the future, Citayam Fashion Week could follow in the footsteps of similar events in popular places such as Harajuku in Japan or 42nd Street in New York, with street performers.
