TRIBUNBATAM.id - A number of new tourism trends have emerged in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, one of which is experience tourism, because mass tourism is no longer the main target of the tourism industry in the country.

"In my opinion, the future is experience tourism, so tourism is based on the experience we get," said Hans Manansang, chairman of the DPP Indonesian Recreation Park Business Association (PUTRI), during the agenda of the PUTRI Travel Fair and Investment Forum 2022 in Jakarta Aquarium & Safari, Friday (10/7/2022)

Furthermore, he said, experience tourism is currently more needed by tourists.

According to him, instead of pursuing mass tourism, offering experience tourism is more unique and interesting.

For information, mass tourism is tourism in large numbers, seen from the tourist aspect.

The quantity of tourist arrivals is prioritized, so that mass tourism leads to tours that tend to be visited by tourists in large numbers or groups.

Hans gave an example of an activity he had done.

In the past, he had created and proposed a Sambal Nusantara festival.

"I found the chili sauces that were created by ancient kings. I found 360 kinds of chili sauce, which we don't usually try and eat," he explained.

From things like that, said Hans, tourists will be more interested because they can feel something unique, as well as tourist attractions offered in a destination.

In addition, he explained, not only pursuing the quantity of tourists, but tourism actors must also continue to improve the quality of products and the quality of tourist attractions, for example paying attention to the cleanliness of toilets, etc.
