TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Karimunjawa National Park (TN) area, Central Java, is closed for tourism activities starting Sunday (1/1/2023) based on the Letter of the Head of Karimunjawa National Park Number PG.3/T.34/TU/SET.1/12/2022.
This closure is in connection with the awareness of bad weather conditions in the waters of the Karimunjawa Islands, as confirmed by Kompas.com to the Head of Karimunjawa Village, Arip Setiawan, Wednesday (4/1/2023).
"All Karimunjawa areas are closed, not accepting tourist visits due to bad weather," said Arip.
However, he said, the closure did not apply to the Genting and Gundul Island areas.
This is because the two regions are administratively part of Karimunjawa, but geographically they are included in Pati Regency, Central Java.
Karimunjawa's closure of all tourism activities lasts until the weather returns to normal so that tourists can travel safely and comfortably.

"The opening of the Karimunjawa National Park area will be officially announced when it is possible based on official information from the BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency)," said the letter signed by the Head of Karimunjawa National Park, Widiastuti, Thursday (29/12/2022) .
As is known, the weather in recent times has been quite extreme in several regions in Indonesia.
As previously reported, more than 300 tourists were detained in Karimunjawa due to high waves.
As a result, the ferry from Jepara couldn't operate due to sea waves that were not safe for sailing.
