Indonesia Wins 20 Awards at the ASEAN Tourism Awarding 2023

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The holding of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023 in Yogyakarta on 2-5 February 2023 was also accompanied by the ASEAN Tourism Awarding 2023 event.

In the ASEAN Tourism Awarding 2023, Indonesia has successfully won 20 awards from four categories.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, also attended the 2023 ATF which was held at the Marriott Hotel Yogyakarta.

This award ceremony took place before the ATF closing ceremony on Sunday (5/2).

The ASEAN Tourism Award is an initiation from ASEAN member countries as a form of appreciation for the efforts made by tourism actors to present superior and quality tourist destinations. 

This award is expected to make ASEAN able to become a single destination.

The ATF 2023 event itself was attended by representatives of Southeast Asian countries in the tourism sector such as Assistant Director, ASEC Sectoral Development Directorate, Pham Quang Minh; Vice Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Vietnam, Doan Van Viet; Permanent Secretary of Tourism and Sports Thailand, Arrun Boonchai; Chief Executive, International Group Singapore, Juliana Kua; and Secretary of the Philippines Department of Tourism, Christina Garcia Fasco. 

Then, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei Darussalam, Tutiaty Abdul Wahab; Secretary of State of Cambodia, Thok Sokhom; Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing; Ambassador India for ASEAN, Jayant Namdeorao Khobragade, and Vice Commissioner of Japan Tourism Agency, Mitsuaki Hoshino. 

The awarding of the ASEAN Tourism Awarding 2023 itself was handed over directly by Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno to the winners. 

Meanwhile, the ATF 2024 event will be held in Vientiane, Laos on January 15-20 2024.  

The following is a list of 20 awards won by Indonesia in the ASEAN Tourism Awarding 2023. 

The 2nd ASEAN Public Toilet Award 2023-2024

- Soekarno Hatta International Airport;
- Bali Safari and Marine Park;
- Traditional Tourism Village of Sasak Ende (Sade);
- Kuta Beach; And
- The Berawa.
