TRIBUNBATAM.id - Even though it was far away, the Ukrainian-Russian war actually had an impact on tourism in Indonesia.

Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Tjokorda Bagus Pemayun does not deny that the war has had an impact on the visits of foreign tourists from the two conflicting countries for holidays to Bali.

Pemayun said Bali had previously been the choice of vacation spot for Russians and Ukrainians because it was comfortable for a vacation.

He also mentioned that the visit of Russian tourists to Bali in January 2023 was already in second place which was previously occupied by Indian tourists.

"In January 2023, Russian tourists are number two after Australia shifting India. Russian tourists are around 19,000 in January. Meanwhile, Ukraine is around two thousand," he explained.

He also stated that before the Covid-19 pandemic, Russian tourist visits to Bali were in the top 10 and Ukraine was in the top 15.

Especially after the Covid-19 Pandemic and the outbreak of war, visits to the two countries have increased.
