Grand's I Hotel Holds Cooking Competition Grand's I Master Chef, With Chef Muto

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Grand's I Hotel held a cooking competition called Grand's I Master Chef.

The event was held for two consecutive days, 5-6 October at Grand Garden located at Grand's I Hotel.

Head of the event committee, Uray Nisfu Haryadi said this event also invited kungfu chef, Chef Muto.

This celebrity chef from Jakarta will be the judge of this competition.

"Our competition events are divided into two categories, professional and general. Professionals include hotel employees, chefs, restaurant employees. While general participants such as non-hotel and restaurant employees, hospitality high school students, hospitality students," said the man who also served as Executive Chef at Grand's I Hotel.

Participants are individuals, and the race with a knockout system.

In each one qualification participants will be given 20 minutes of cooking time according to theme of the cuisine given by jury.

The first qualification, namely cooking Indonesian fried rice. The second qualification is cooking fried vermicelli, tempeh tofu, and in final is chicken cooking.

"We deliberately use Indonesian menu, in order to motivate participants for develop the culinary menu of Indonesia. And we can also advance our tourism," he said.

For those who are interested, the registration fee is IDR 200 thousand for general participants and IDR 250 thousand for professional participants.

Registration fees include meals for participants.

Beside Chef Muto, other judges are Anngelynne Lee, General Manager of Grand's I Hotel, Sapuri Sous Chef Nagoya Plasa Hotel, and Sukana Executive Chef Travelodge Batam.

Until now there are 43 public registrants and 31 professional registrants.

Registration closes 29 September 2019 and technical meeting on 2 October 2019. (ane)
