TRIBUNBATAM.id - Bandung Karate Club (BKC) Open International Championship 2019 which is an international sporting event, was held again in Batam for three days, 27 November to 30 November.
Chairperson of the Committee, Sulistyana explained as many as 722 participants had expressed their readiness to fight in this international level championship by taking place at Temenggung Abdul Jamal Sport Hall Batam.
"So 722 participants from 54 contingents, consisting of 9 foreign contingents and 45 domestic contingents consisting of South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, Central Java, West Java, Yogyakarta, Jambi, Riau West Sumatra, Babel, NTT, Bali, South Kalimantan," said Sulystyana was accompanied by the Chairperson, Surya Makmur Nasution at BKC Batam Secretariat, as released by Tribunbatam.id
"And for the host itself is Batam, Riau Islands Province, for each Province consists of many teams so there are 45 contingents in this country," he added.
It is said, from overseas participants who had initially been Confirmed there would be 10 countries.
But there were some who were unable to attend, only 5 countries were present, namely Malaysia, Singapore, India, Nepal, Bangladesh.

"While those who cancel participation are from UAE, Brunei, Uzbekistan and Japan," he said.
But what is proud of Malaysia's neighboring team consists of 5 provinces or states with the quality of athletes derived from the trainers who are well known in Karate.
"Darai's athlete material, the regions and countries that are present are very promising good quality matches," he added.
According to him, the readiness of committee was very ready to welcome 722 athletes and would provide the best service for all the contingents present.
"Although we realize that the current budget is not as large as 2 years ago from Riau Islands Provincial Government, we are still enthusiastic to conduct this biennial event," he said.
"Our pride is certainly being able to make positive contribution to Riau Islands province especially Batam City to the people outside Riau Islands province and even abroad," he added.
Meanwhile, Surya Makmur Nasution said that this event was a very special program for BKC, where the biennial work program received appreciation from BKC board and BKC management in the regions.
"In fact, the participants' interest was quite high, butcommittee limited the number of athletes to around 800 people, out of total 68 classes that would be contested with two categories namely, the word category and the committee category," he said.
"This event is not just a sport, but this event can give effect to the growth of tourism in Riau Islands, especially in Batam Citu for implementation of this BKC open," he said. (tribunbatam.id/leo halawa)
