TRIBUNBATAM.id - Anticipating the spread of the Corona virus in Class II A detention centers in Batam, Sub-Chemical, Biological and Radioactive Detachment (Subden KBR) Satbrimob Riau Islands Police spraying disinfectant liquid in the Rutan environment, Friday (3/20/2020) morning.

The Batam Detention Center requested the assistance of Brimob to anticipate the entry of Covid-19 into the detention center. Spraying is done in all the rooms of the target residents, starting from the bed to the bathroom. 

Spraying of disinfectants was also carried out throughout the prison fence, as well as worship rooms, medical rooms and office space of Class II A Detention Center Barelang Batam.

When spraying is done, all fostered residents are collected in the field, while enjoying the morning sun. 

Brimob Commander Unit Commander (Dansat) Pol Mohamad Rendra Salipu, through the Head of KBR AKP Z.A.C Tamba said, this spraying was a request from the Batam Detention Center as an effort to prevent Covid-19 from entering the detention center.

"This is cross-agency cooperation. There is a demand to spray immediately. This is our shared duty and responsibility," he said.

In the same place, the Head of Batam Detention Center, Iyan Patmos said, currently the Batam Detention Center environment is in a safe and controlled condition.

Fostered citizens, amounting to 1,018 people, are still in good health, including with officers. 

"We will do all the standard handling of the Covid-19 outbreak. Not only spraying, we also do tightening visitors because there is already an instruction from the center," said Iyan.
