Ahead of the Opening of the Batam-Singapore Border, KSOP: There's still no Passengers Increase

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM  --  Ahead of the opening of the Indonesia-Singapore cooperation route on 26 October, the Batam City Port Authority and Harbormaster Department (KSOP) noted that there hasn't been an increase in the number of passengers at Batam International Port.

Even in the last week, the condition of the number of passengers at Batam Center International Port has tended to decrease. 

Public Relations of KSOP Batam, Anina Solmidas, when contacted said that there was no increase in the number of international passengers.

"There has been no increase. Yesterday, we recorded only 21 international passengers from Singapore," she said, Saturday (24/10/2020). 

This amount is brought by two shipping trips that operate every day from Batam Center International Port to Singapore.

The Majestic Liberty ship carried 5 passengers, including 3 Indonesians and 2 foreigners. Meanwhile, the Sindo ship carried 16 people consisting of 13 Indonesians and 3 foreigners. 

Of the 5 international ports in Batam, four of them are still not operating. 

Regarding the opening of the cooperation on the Indonesia-Singapore border route on October 26, Anina said that her party had not received the shipping operation permit report. (Tribunbatam.id/Bereslumbantobing)
