Many of Batam Private Employees Exposed To Covid-19, Potential Transmission Occurs during Meal Hours

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM  -  The case of Covid-19 transmission in Batam is still high. Of all positive patients, private employees are the most exposed.

Not infrequently, from that one case, it spreads to the environment in the workplace. So, more and more employees are exposed to the coronavirus. 

The Batam City Manpower Department (Disnaker) and the Batam Covid-19 Task Force Team have stepped in to respond to this. 

From the results of direct checking, it is known that each industrial area has implemented health protocols. Even before the pandemic, employees were already wearing masks and hand gloves.

However, the greatest potential for the spread of Covid-19 occurs when employees are having a meal break. At that time, they took off their masks, and the canteen was crowded due to recess.

Then, another potential, namely when the hours come home from work, there will be a crowd. Even though it has been recommended to keeping distance, something like that still cannot be avoided and there will be a buildup of people. 

The significant addition of Covid-19 patients from the private employee cluster is an effort of tracing, testing and treatment. 

Previously it was reported that patients from the cluster of private employees had increased again. This cluster contributes to the most positive cases of Covid-19 in Batam City. 

Based on the latest data, positive cases of Covid-19 in Batam, Thursday (22/10/2020) headed for 2,390. There were an additional 98 cases. With details, 32 confirmed symptomatic cases, 39 without symptoms, and 27 close contacts. (Tribunbatam.id/Roma Uly Sianturi)
