Batam Adds 73 Positive Cases of Covid-19, Mostly Without Corona Symptoms

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - There are an additional 73 new cases of Covid-19 in Batam.

Of the number that collected by the Batam City Covid-19 Task Force, Tuesday, (27/10), the most positive cases were those without symptoms or asymptomatic, with 64 patients. 

Then, 4 people were patients with Covid-19 symptoms. Meanwhile, 5 other people were in close contact with previous coronavirus patients.

The increase in 73 patients was dominated by private employees, namely 63 people. 

A total of 4 people work as police, 1 housewife (IRT), 2 students, 2 self-employed, and 1 BUMN employee. 

With this addition, currently, the total number of Covid-19 patients in Batam City has reached 2,706 people.

Meanwhile, there were 1,975 patients who had recovered. 

Then, as many as 665 patients were being treated.

Meanwhile, 66 patients were declared dead due to Covid-19.

"We urge you to comply with health protocols according to government regulations and don't forget about social distancing, always wash your hands using soap and running water," said the Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Health Department. (*)
