TRIBUNBATAM.id - The coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2 which is the cause of the Covid-19 disease is still contagious in the community.
This can be seen from the daily Covid-19 cases, the death rate, and the number of patients undergoing treatment at the hospital which continues to grow.
Data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force until Thursday, (4/8/2021) at 12.00 WIB showed that there were an additional 5,504 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The addition has caused the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to currently reach 1,552,880 people.
The same data shows that there are additional patients recovering due to Covid-19. In the last 24 hours, the number has increased by 7,640 people.
Thus, the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered in Indonesia to date has reached 1,399,382 people.
However, the number of patients who died after being exposed to Covid-19 also continues to grow.
In the period of April 7 to 8, 2021, 163 Covid-19 patients died.
Thus, the death rate due to Covid-19 reached 42,227 people since the beginning of the pandemic.
With this data, there are currently 111,271 active cases of Covid-19.
Active cases are patients who are still confirmed positive for the coronavirus, and are undergoing treatment in hospitals or independent isolation. (*)
