Today, (1/11) Batam and Riau Islands are Forecast to Experience Heavy Rain. Flood Alert!

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Meteorology Class I Hang Nadim Batam Station provides weather forecast information in the Riau Islands region, Monday (11/1/2021).

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has the potential to occur in a number of areas in Riau Islands, including Batam. 

Monday (11/01/2021) at around 07.00 WIB until Tuesday (12/01/2021) at 07.00 WIB, the Riau Islands region is predicted to rain with light to heavy intensity.

"There are wind bends and cyclonic circulation in the West Kalimantan region, which causes the buildup of air masses and a slowdown in wind speeds, so the potential for cloud formation in the Riau Islands region tends to be more significant," said Forecaster on duty, Riza Juniarti, Sunday (10/1 / 2021).

BMKG also urges the Riau Islands to remain vigilant of potential rain with moderate to heavy intensity.

"For marine transportation and marine activities, we are advised to be aware of (high waves and strong winds), especially in the Bintan waters, Lingga waters, Anambas Islands waters and Natuna Islands waters," he appealed.
