Mayor of Batam, Rudi has plans to hold prayer asking for rain or called as istisqa prayer. He said prayers ask for this rain, not only because smog.

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Smog enveloping Batam City and began to have effect on deteriorating air quality in Batam. This condition get response from Mayor of Batam, Rudi.

Batam City Government plans to hold prayer asking for rain or called as Istisqa prayer, if the condition of Batam gets worse.

This prayer will involves all Muslim community in Batam.

Rudi assertively, prayers ask for this rain, not only because of the haze.

"Lately, Batam has not been rained by rain either. My grass (at home) has all died," he said laughing, after attending Public Day event at Mall Botania 2 at Batam Center, Saturday (09/14/2019).

Rudi continued, Batam Government has not issued a policy to dismiss schools.

But no one knows, the policy will be issued.

"Not yet. If the situation has to be this way, we will do it," said former member of Batam City DPRD.

Before that, his party will sit together with other Regional Leadership Deliberations called Musyawarah Pimpinan Daerah (Muspida).

Rudi said, from Health Department had also submitted an appeal to citizens.

"Wear a mask, don't drink less than 2 liters of water," he reminded. (tribunbatam.id/dewi haryati)
