Smog Haze Has Disappeared In Aceh, This The Explanation of BMKG
BMKG of Sultan Malikussaleh Station, ensured the haze that strucked some areas in Aceh Province had disappeared.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) of Sultan Malikussaleh Station, ensured that the haze that struck a number of areas in Aceh Province had disappeared. Previously for the past four days, haze struck a number of cities such as North Aceh, Lhokseumawe, East Aceh, Aceh Tamiang and Langsa City.
"Today the smog haze has not been monitored. This is due to the rain which has fallen in the last two days with moderate intensity," said BMKG Aceh forecaster, Winda R, Saturday (9/21/2019).
She mentioned, from satellite monitoring there were no hot spots in Aceh. However, the smoke haze is sure to originate from other provinces on the island of Sumatra where forest and land fires are happening. Winda was also asked about the potential for Aceh to be hit by the haze again.
"It really depends on the direction of the wind. Whether the direction of the wind leads to the Aceh region or not, if it leads to us, we might still be exposed to the haze in the future," she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Administration of Sultan Malikussaleh Airport, North Aceh, Niswan, said the flights to and from the airport had returned to be normal.
"Flights from Malikussaleh to Kuala Namu Airport or vice versa are now back to normal. Hopefully the smoke haze will not hit Aceh anymore, so that the passengers can fly using planes," he concluded. (*)
