TRIBUNBATAM.id -  In addition to preventing the forest and land fires (Karhutla), the Lingga Police Station also does not play with the unscrupulous forest and land burners.

Today, the Lingga Police, Kepri, secured and cracked down on land owners along with their workers who deliberately cleared the land by burning in the Lanjut Village, Singkep Pesisir District, Lingga Regency.

Lingga Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Joko Adi Nugroho said, the arrest was due to information from the residents who claimed to be uneasy with the land burning activities that carried out by one of the residents in the Lanjut Village.

After checking, the land burning action was proven and immediately dealt with.

"So far we are still doing an inspection, namely the land owner along with his workers," Adi said by telephone on Tuesday (9/24/2019).

Not only in the Lanjut Village, Adi said, his party was also secured the residents who cleared the land by burning it in Air Merah Village, Singkep Barat District.

The land owner is also still being investigated by the Lingga Police Resort Satreskrim investigator.

The article states that anyone who intentionally causes an explosion, fire or flood will be sentenced to a maximum of 12 years in prison.
