FINALLY! Rain Fell, The Smoke Haze In Riau Starts To Decreased

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -  Rain with mild to moderate intensity flushed a number of areas in Riau, Wednesday (4/25/2019). 

Rain from Wednesday morning continued until 10:30 WIB. 

Rain causes the smog of forest and land fires (karhutla) to be greatly reduced. 

Observed in Pekanbaru City and Kampar District, the haze is much less compared to the previous days. 

In the last 2 days, a number of times the rain was quite heavy soaked a number of areas of the Bumi Lancang Kuning. 

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) of Pekanbaru Station predicts that there are ten regions that have the potential of rain.

"Potential rain with moderate to heavy intensity that can be accompanied by lightning in parts of the city of Pekanbaru, Pelalawan Regency, Kuantan Singingi, Kampar, Rokan Hulu, Rokan Hilir, Siak, Dumai City, Meranti Islands, and Bengkalis," said the weather forecasters at BMKG Pekanbaru Station Ahmad Agus Widodo in a written statement on Wednesday. 

According to Agus, this condition can be last until 11:30 WIB. 

There are 152 hotspots

Even though some areas have been raining, hotspots are still commonly found in Riau. 

Pekanbaru BMKG Station detected 152 hotspots, which are scattered in a number of areas in Riau. 

For Sumatra, 245 hotspots were detected, with confidence above 50 percent, said Ahmad.

Riau Province is in the first ranked , which is 152 points of hotspots. 

As known, for the past two weeks, the haze was covered the Riau region.

The Air quality has reached to dangerous levels.
