International Bodybuilding Championship Held in Batam, Followed by 28 Countries

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The 53rd Asia Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation (ABBF) is held in Indonesia, precisely at Batam City on 27 September to 3 October 2019.

This championship will be followed by participation from 28 countries with the presence of more than 300 athletes and 200 officials.

Commenting on the championship Datuk Paul Chua, President of World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) from Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation (ABBF) said that he was very pleased to announce the 53rd ABBF Asia championship in 2019.

"This is also our effort to continue working towards the development of bodybuilding in cross-regional, national and international levels," he said, Wednesday (9/25).

Meanwhile, Sugree Supawarikul, General Secretary of Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation (ABBF) said that he was happy to be able hold this championship in Indonesia.

This championship will be held at Pacific Palace Hotel and participated by 28 countries with the presence of more than 300 athletes and 200 officials.

Head of Guidance and Big Weight Achievement, Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Management Board (PB PABBSI), Alamsyah Wijaya explained that Indonesia was chosen as the host of this competition on 28 August 2019.

"This event was held in Indonesia last on 1992, precisely in Jogjakarta. We have one month to prepare everything. Kemenpora fully supports the facilitation of this event, "he explained.

Alamsyah said, 7 Indonesian representative athletes were also deployed to compete in this competition.

Meanwhile, Batam was made the host of sporting event because it was considered to have connections from Singapore, making it easier for arrivals from countries in Asia.

Not only that, organizer considered Batam to have adequate facilities for the implementation of this event.

The 28 countries that will compete later are Afghanistan, Bhutan, Brunei, China, China Hong Kong, China Macau, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore , South Korea, China Taipai, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekiskan, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Indonesia.
