Batam Needs 60 Additional Elementary and Junior High Schools, Six Other Schools are Forced to Join

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Based on the results of the Batam City Education Department's data collection, at this time in the mainland region of Batam still needs an additional 60 primary level schools, both elementary and junior high schools.

"There are around 60 needs for additional schools, elementary and junior high schools. That's for mainland only. "If the hinterland (Penyangga island), I think there is no problem," said Head of Batam Disdik, Hendri Arulan at Batam Center, Friday (10/4/2019).

According to him, almost every sub-district in mainland needs additional schools.

For example, in Batam City sub-district which needs additional schools in the Belian area.

At present there are still six schools that are studying in other schools. 

Namely SMPN 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, and 63. One of them, SMPN 58, is in the process of building a school building.

Hendri explained, in the 2019/2020 school year the Office of Education in Batam Mayor's policy had opened four new schools.

These are SMPN 60 and 61 in Sagulung District, SMPN 62 in Bengkong District, and SMPN 63 in Nongsa District.

He explained, the requirements for this development must be included in the Regional Development Work Plan (RKPD). And must be included in the Development Planning Conference (musrenbang). (Batam Media Center)
