Supporting the Startup in Energy, PGN held 'PGN Energy Startup Competition of 2019'

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -  PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) together with Innovesia held the 2019 PGN Energy Startup Competition.

The activity, which was first held in Indonesia, took the theme of "Innovation in Gas and Renewable Energy". 

Commercial Director, Dilo Seno Widagdo said, through this activity, PGN as a gas subholding seeks to encourage the emergence of startups and technology innovators in the energy sector, particularly those related to the natural gas and green energy. 

The opening of the competition was also attended by the Chairperson Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center, Filda Citra Yusgiantoro and the Founder of Yoberbagid and Power Expert System Tractebe, Dr. Muhamad Reza as a guest speaker. 

In this event, various talented startups, both software and hardware, was participated. 

As a series of activities, the 2019 PGN Energy Startup Competitions will hold roadshows in four cities namely; Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

Then a bootcamp will be held in Megamendung, Bogor, followed by Pitching Day in Jakarta.

PGN's Business Development, Zulvikar Sani Putra explained, the PGN Energi Startup Competition is an open innovation program to curate the startup technology business developers and the owners of ideas / solutions.

At this event, PGN will partners with the public, government agencies, business units, holding companies, associations, academics, startups, developers, and also the community. 

"In this competition the participants were given a challenge, namely how the PGN and startups could develop the sustainable environmentally friendly energy, maximize the use of gas for commercial use and optimize the use of energy in the household," he explained. 

Furthermore, Zulfikar added, the participants were also given the freedom in the use of technology, both using technology loT, Big Data, Al, and Machine Learning.

As a pioneer of natural gas utilization, PGN has built and managed more than 10 thousand kilometers of gas pipelines and more than 300 thousand consumers from various market segments. 

To distribute the natural gas throughout Indonesia, PGN will distribute natural gas, both with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). PGN will continue to innovate for supporting the realization of the national energy independence and security through the use of natural gas that is proven to be efficient, environmentally friendly and also safe.
