Recently, the phenomenon of purplish-colored sky in Japan was linked to the hurricane of the hagibis that came later.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Recently, the phenomenon of purplish-colored sky in Japan was linked to the hurricane of the hagibis that came later.
Is the purple sky phenomenon really caused by a hurricane or typhoon?
According to Marufin Sudibyo, an amateur astronomer, the phenomenon does indeed have the possibility of being related to a disaster. However, it is not the result of a hagibis supertyphoon.
"Panorama of the western sky colored purple at sunset is widely reported in the northern hemisphere in recent months," wrote Marufin, to Kompas.com, Saturday (10/12/2019).

He added that the sky phenomenon was related to another disaster that occurred last June, that is the huge eruption of Mount Raikoke near the Russian Kamchatka Peninsula.
Marufin said, that the purple color caused by the scattering of the sunlight by sulfuric acid aerosol particles.
Sulfuric acid is derived from SO2 eruption products.
According to Marufin, there were at least 14 billion tons of SO2 sprayed into the sky during the eruption.
Measurements with stratospheric air balloons also showed concentrations of sulfuric acid aerosols in the atmosphere, reaching 20 times above normal. (*)
