Where Did 'No Bra Day' Come From?? See the Explanations Here

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  No Bra Day or the day without using a Bra is always busy being discussed every October 13. Many social media user accounts in a number of countries in the world include #nobraday hash marks. Some artists even went along to enliven the "No Bra Day" campaign on their social media accounts.

The campaign is quite controversial because it encourages women to not wear a bra a day. However, according to awarenessdays.co.uk, this campaign actually aims to raise awareness about breast cancer. 

More precisely, awareness that women routinely carry out breast self-examination and the importance of breast cancer testing for early detection.

October itself is indeed a month of breast cancer awareness. The question is, it is not known who's the first that coined the idea of "No Bra Day". 

"Although the origins of National No Bra Day are unclear, this campaign has been running at least since 2011, with a message to raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer screening," writes the awarenessdays.co.uk website

Meanwhile, as quoted from Mirror.co.uk, some say the "No Bra Day" campaign is also a form of public to give a support for the breast cancer patients. 

However, Cancer Research UK also claimed not to know much about the origin of "No Bra Day". It is not known for sure whether the "No Bra Day" campaign was carried out by a cancer foundation or a cancer care community.

Some social media account users even doubt the "No Bra Day" campaign is a form of support for breast cancer. 

When contacted by Kompas.com, Head of the National Cancer Prevention Commission (KPKN), Prof. Dr. dr. Soehartati Gondhowiardjo SpRad (K) Onk, was also claimed not to know about the "No Bra Day" campaign to raise the breast cancer awareness. (*)
