GARUDA NEW AIRCRAFT. The latest Garuda Indonesia Boing 737-800 NG series 123th plane arrived from Seattle, United States, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Thursday (10/20). The aircraft for domestic and regional purposes was equipped with Boing Sky Interior technology in lighting in the cabin and using batik-patterned fabric on the bench and bamboo on each partition on the plane. 

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  The Ministry of Transportation prohibits the flying or grounding the three of Boeing 737 NG aircraft that operated by the Indonesian airlines.

The three planes are one owned by Garuda Indonesia and two owned by Sriwijaya Air.

The three planes were banned from flying after a crack had been found in the bodies of the two airlines.

The Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations, Avirianto said, there was a crack in one of the three B737NG aircraft owned by Garuda Indonesia that were older than 30,000 FCN and there were cracks in two B737NG aircraft owned by Sriwijaya Air from five planes that were more than 30,000 FCN.

The operation of three B737NG aircraft which were found to be cracked, will be suspended until awaiting further recommendations from Boeing

DKPPU (The Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations) asks the operators who operate B737NG, that are Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Batik Air, and Sriwijaya Air, to include inspections or inspections according to DGCA AD 19-10-003 into the Maintenance Program at regular intervals every 3500 Flight Cycles (FC). 

Avirianto added, his party had ordered the flight operators who operate B737NG aircraft to immediately carry out the instructions according to the Airworthiness Directive.

The instruction is in the form of B737NG with an accumulated age of more than 30,000 FCN required to conduct inspection no more than 7 days from 11 October 2019.

Then, B737NG with an accumulated age of more than 22,600 FCN are required to inspect no more than 1,000 FCN since 11 October 2019.

Then it will be re-inspected every 3,500 FCN repeatedly. 

Quoted from Reuters on Friday (10/11/2019), the planes that suffered the crack will be prohibited from flying until the repairs are carried out.
