To Avoid of Being Entangled by Illegal Online Loans, Borrow Money for Productive Activities Only

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  The Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan) through the Investment Alert Task Force is taking firm action against perpetrators of fintech lending or illegal online loans. 

The decisive action is aimed at providing protection to the public so that they are not caught up in illegal fintech activities.

The Chairperson of the Investment Alert Task Force, Tongam Lumban Tobing revealed, his party continued to monitor applications or sites that offer illegal online loans and immediately block them without waiting for victims. 

According to Tongam, up to now there are 1,477 illegal fintech lending businesses that have been stopped. Although many have stopped, but illegal fintech offers are still rife.

Preventive action is also carried out with education and socialization to the public to avoid illegal fintech lending.

Tongam also gave tips to the public to make loans only at fintech lending registered at OJK. Before borrowing, understand the risks and obligations. 

The repressive actions carried out by the OJK so far have been to stop illegal fintech lending activities and announce the list to the public. The Investment Alert Task Force also blocked applications or sites through the Ministry of Communication and Information.

In addition, the Task Force also submitted an information report to the National Police and requested banks not to facilitate illegal fintech lending. (*)
