Facebook Not Cooperative, Reject Indonesian Police to Open Data of Hoaks Spreader
According to the police, this social media platform often does not want to disclose user data that has been targeted by the police.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - The police admit that Facebook is still not cooperative in following law enforcement in Indonesia.
According to the police, this social media platform often does not want to disclose user data that has been targeted by the police regarding the spread of hoaks.
Head of Sub Directorate III Dittipdsiber Bareskrim Polri Kombes Pol Kurniadi said that this was because the user data was not located in the territory of Indonesia so that it was constrained by legal basis.

Kurniadi revealed, Facebook often refused to open data on users who committed crimes on the grounds of free speech.
Even today, Kurniadi said, only less than 50 percent of police requests were responded to by Facebook. That makes it difficult for the police to enforce the law.

He also added that the police needed to take a more personal approach so that Facebook would be more cooperative with the law enforcement process in Indonesia. (*)
