Batam Government Scheduled Four Cheap Basic Food Distribution Sessions Next Year

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Head of Batam City Industry and Trade Department (Disperindag) Gustian Riau said the implementation of 2020 low-cost foodstuffs would be divided into four sessions.

The first TPID cheap food was held in January and February, the second just before Eid.

Then the third implementation of TPID groceries after Lebaran.

Last, before Christmas and New Year.

Gustian Riau said that the budget for cheap food needs had already been submitted in Batam City Regional Budget (APBD) 2020.

"The budget that we propose is around IDR 107 thousand per package in APBD. But what is sold to the public at a price of IDR 50 thousand. The government provides a subsidy of IDR 57 thousand," Gustian said, Tuesday (11/05/2019).

He admitted that Batam City DPRD had never been involved in the distribution of coupons to the public.

Because the data collection of residents who get coupons is done by RT and RW devices in each district.

"Next we will try to collaborate with RT and RW to record the community data. We will also carry out this program according to mutual agreement," Gustian said. (tribunbatam.id / Roma Uly Sianturi)
