Head of BI Representative of East Java, Difi Ahmad Johansyah, said that besides targeting the local people's market, UMKM products also had the potential to answer the demand from the Indonesian diaspora.
This potential market was initiated by the central bank, which also fostered UMKMs to be able to penetrate the international market.
"Actually when it comes to exports, we can see countries with large Indonesian diaspora. This can be utilized," Difi explained on the sidelines of the Sharia Economic Festival (Fesyar) in Surabaya, East Java, Friday (8/11) / 2019).
Difi gave examples of UMKM products that were very in demand by the Indonesian diaspora, including peanut brittle, crackers, peanut sauce, and sambal. In addition, another excellent product is Indonesia's original coffee.
In addition, Difi also explained the potential role of Indonesian Workers (TKI) to participate in introducing and marketing Indonesian UMKM products abroad. Because, not a few Indonesian Workers (TKI) who have long lived abroad to be able to open a store in an overseas country. (*)
