Ministry of Transportation Ensures Sriwijaya Air Will Operate Normally After Dismissing from Garuda
The Ministry of Transportation ensured that Sriwijaya Air's flight services continue to run well after the cessation of cooperation with GA Group.
"The Minister of Transportation has instructed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to take steps to supervise Sriwijaya Air to ensure that the services provided continue to meet the aviation safety and security aspects," said the Head of the Communications and Public Information Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, Hengki Angkasawan in his written statement, Sunday (10) / 11/2019).
Hengki explained, the Sriwijaya Air had promised to ensure that flight services were not disrupted after the decision to terminate the cooperation with Garuda Indonesia.
According to him, Sriwijaya Air has also carried out its obligations towards a number of passengers who experienced delays and flight cancellations at a number of airports on Thursday (11/07/2019).
The compensation given to passengers was in accordance with Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 89 Year 2015 Concerning Delay Management at the Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Business Entity in Indonesia.
The step was taken because of the sudden instruction from GA Group to all of its subsidiaries (GMF, Gapura Angkasa and Aerowisata) to provide services to Sriwijaya by cash payment in advance since Thursday (11/07/2019) yesterday. (*)
