TRIBUNBATAM.id - Lobster seeds worth Rp 66 billion, which were successfully secured by the Riau Islands Police Department, were finally released in the waters of Abang Island, Galang, Batam, on Friday (11/08/2019). 

It did not take long, with 60 minutes thousands of lobsters wrapped in plastic in 44 viber boxes were finally rescued.

Head of the Batam Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Department (BKIPM) Batam, Agung said, Abang Island is an area conservation area owned by the Riau Islands which has a pretty good ecosystem, from the effects of the north wind. 

He said, besides being a tourist attraction, Abang Island also had a good ecosystem. 

"The waters are protected from strong waves like the north wind, far from oil exposure and not the trajectory, and here has coral reefs that are still beautiful," he explained. 

In addition, the Abang Island conservation area already has a community group fostered by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to oversee the ecosystem.
