Pertamina Can Save Up to Trillions By Implementing the Digitalization

TRIBUNBATAM.id - PT Pertamina (Persero) revealed that it had saved trillions of rupiah because of implementing digitalization in its business activities.

The digitalization process starts from the search (exploration and exploitation) operation to the distribution (distribution) of oil and natural gas.

Pertamina's Finance Director, Pahala Mansyuri, said that the oil and gas industry needed big capital and had big risks. The application of digital technology can minimize existing risks, so companies can make savings.

Pahala said there were three digital technologies used by Pertamina to carry out its business activities, namely big data analytics, internet of things, and robotic.

The use of digital technology is applied to the procurement process, by creating programs that provide service goods. 

As information in one year, Pertamina has budgeted Rp. 15 to 20 trillion for procurement, using digital technology, can save Rp. 1.2 to 1.5 trillion. 

The application of digital technology is also applied to oil and gas search activities, with data collected by Pertamina that can increase oil and gas production, in addition to the process of sending and delivering fuel to consumers.

The application of digital technology functions in supervision so that distribution can run well. (*)
