Garuda Indonesia Said No Ticket Price Increase at Christmas and New Year

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Garuda Indonesia airline said there would be no increase in airline ticket prices during the Christmas holidays and New Year 2019.

This was revealed by Garuda Indonesia's Commerce Director, Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah at the Ministry of BUMNs, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/26/2019).

"There may not be a price increase. We give the opportunity to the public (to celebrate) Christmas and New Year (with fixed ticket prices, aka not rising), "said Pikri. 

Pikri explained, Garuda Indonesia could not just fix the price of the plane tickets. Therefore, the provisions of the flight ticket price has been set by the Ministry of Transportation.

"Any airline may not sell more than TBA (upper limit tariff)," Pikri said.

Pikri added, usually the public was shocked by the price of plane tickets contained in the online travel agent (OTA). He reminded the public to carefully look at plane ticket prices in OTA. 

Because, it could be that the price of a plane ticket listed as OTA is not a direct flight ticket, but a transit flight ticket so the price can be more expensive.

"The problem with OTA is that it can combine routes that cause high prices. For example, Bandung-Medan TBA is Rp. 2.4 million. But because Garuda has no direct flights, he will find a route from Bandung-Denpasar-Cengkareng-Medan. So the combined price is Rp. 5 million in total, "he said. (*)
