Garuda Indonesia plans to open 20 new international routes in 2020 to attract more tourists to come to Indonesia.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Garuda Indonesia plans to open 20 new international routes in 2020 to attract more tourists to come to Indonesia.
Garuda Indonesia President Director, Ari Askhara revealed that one of the new international routes opened was Jakarta-Istanbul. In addition, the airline will also open flights to Taipei from Surabaya and Denpasar.
"We do this so that more foreign tourists visit Indonesia so that it can help the government to boost the number of tourists entering," he said in the launch of the new fleet, A330-900 NEO, Wednesday (11/27/2019).

Ari revealed, the new routes were planned to be served using a new fleet, namely the Airbus A330-900 ER.
Garuda Indonesia began operating a new wide body Airbus A330-900 NEO aircraft on Thursday (11/28/2019).

The new aircraft is part of the fleet revitalization in the Garuda Indonesia Group. In total, there will be 14 aircraft of this type that will be sent until 2022.
Until now there are two A330-900 NEO aircraft in the Garuda Indonesia Group, namely 1 unit operated by Garuda Indonesia and 1 other unit operated by Citilink.
"Until the end of 2019 there will be 5 units of A330-900 NEO aircraft that we will operate. Ie, 3 units are operated by Garuda and 2 units are operated by Citilink," explained Ari. (*)
