BMKG estimates the wave height in these waters to reach 3.5 meters.

Forecaster on duty BMKG Class l Hang Nadim Batam Noah D Ginting appealed for public to be aware of this wave height.

"Especially for sea transportation and marine activities. We appeal to be aware of these high waves," he said Monday (12/02/2019).

BMKG predicts that wave height in three other regencies / cities in Riau Islands Province such as Tanjungpinang, Bintan and Lingga reaches 1 meter.

While the wave height in Batam and Karimun waters reached 0.8 meters.

In general, weather conditions are forecast to be cloudy.

Local rain with mild to moderate intensity, also can be accompanied by lightning, and strong winds.

This is due to high humidity of the air supported by close cyclone pattern in Riau Islands (Kepri) area causing air mass collection.

"This also has an impact on increasing opportunities for the formation of rain clouds in Riau Islands region," he said.

While the air temperature in Riau Islands ranging from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds ranging from 5 to 30 kilometers per hour.
