The Aircraft Found to Bring the Illegal Harley Davidson Parts, This's What Garuda Indonesia Said

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Garuda Indonesia's Airbus A330-900 aircraft was found to be carrying the illegal Harley Davidson motorcycle parts by Customs and Excise officers.

This was confirmed by Garuda Indonesia's Vice President Corporate Secretary, Ikhsan Rosan. 

"Indeed there are some of our employees who carry parts (Harley Davidson illegal)," Ikhsan said to Kompas.com, Tuesday (3/12/2019).

Customs and Excise Department discovered the illegal goods when the Airbus A330-900 aircraft ordered by the state-owned airline arrived in Indonesia in mid-November 2019. The plane was imported from France.

According to Ikhsan, Garuda Indonesia is ready to comply with applicable regulations. Including paying the cost of importing these goods.

"If asked to pay (import fees), we will definitely pay it. If it's still prohibited, we will return it," Ikhsan said.

Ikhsan added, currently the Harley Davidson motorcycle parts are still be detained by the Customs and Excise officers.

"At present these parts are still being held by Customs and Excise. The tax costs around Rp 50 million, "he said. (*)
