Indonesian Cuisine Becomes Main Menu For Cooking Classes at Aston Hotel Batam

Aston Hotel Batam invited Chef Vindex Tengker to held a cooking class activity together. This kind of event was one of Aston Hotel's annual agendas.

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Aston Hotel Batam has just held a cooking class activity together with Chef Vindex Tengker, Sunday (12/08/2019).

The event took place at the 10th Floor Gravity Ten.

Aston Hotel Batam Executive Chef, Budi Santoso said this event was one of Aston Hotel's annual agendas.

"We do have a program to invite celebrity chefs. And one of them this year we invited Chef Vindex Tengker to teach the participants to cook, especially Indonesian Fusion menu, "he said.

Previously, Budi said Aston Hotel Batam had also conducted Dining Experience together with Chef Vindex Tengker with various menu choices.

Such as Balinese Snapper Ceviche ‘Sambal Matah’, Short Rib ‘Palembang Tamarind’, Duo of Wagyu Beef ‘Rica-rica’ and Chicken ‘Tuturuga’, and Black Rice ‘Ketan Srikaya’.

Budi said in the future, Aston Hotel Batam will hold similar activities, even with frequency that has increased to twice in one year.

Meanwhile, Chef Vindex Tengker said in this era cooking class is an agenda that is quite popular among the people.

"Through the cooking class we are also taught how to start the healty life style, we know more about ingredients, and most importantly the participants can be concerned with cooking," he said.

For cooking class activities at Aston Hotel Batam, Vindex said he gave knowledge about two dishes from Manado, Tuturuga and Rica.

Chicken meat was chosen to be processed using Tuturuga ingredients while beef was chosen to be served together with Rica sambal.

The first time filling cooking class in Batam, Vindex considered enthusiasm of the community was quite good.

"Hopefully this agenda can be held routinely, because I think this is a good start," he said.

Not only involving local Batam residents, it turned out this cooking class were able to bring participants from other regions in Riau Islands province precisely Tanjungbalai Karimun.

Indah, a participant from Karimun admitted that she deliberately came directly to Batam for take part in the cooking class.
