The project is part of improving service to customers, ATB seeks to maintain better flow of water supply.

"ATB will do work to repair leaks in 600 mm DN transmission line. The transmission pipeline must be treated, this is part of ATB supply strengthening program. We hope the work can run smoothly and on schedule," Maria said, Monday ( 12/9/2019)

During the work, water supply from Duriangkang Water Treatment Plant (IPA) did not flow temporarily.

Customers who get supplies from Duriangkang will have a temporary impact.

Work on repairing pipe leaks is carried out on Wednesday (11/12) starting at 20:00 - 05.00 WIB.

"This improvement must certainly be done, the goal is supply performance can be maintained. Hopefully our team can complete the work faster and can flow the supply back to the customer," Maria said.

The leak repair work is a series of supply strengthening programs for end of natural resource areas such as Tanjung Uncang and surrounding areas.

Series of supply strengthening programs are expected to provide better results.

When the work is done, supply from Duriangkang IPA will temporarily stop.

Considering the repair of pipe leaks must be carried out when the pipe is completely empty of water.

Technically there will be a welding process / welding on the pipe.

Although the work done to repair transmission pipeline leaks, the area affected by Duriangkang IPA shutdown is not as extensive as the supply reinforcement work done previously.

This time the work was more minimized to affected areas, namely in Panbil, Sukajadi, Batam Center and surrounding areas.

"We still urge customers in the affected areas be expected to prepare water reservoirs for use as needed, before the water supply is interrupted," hoped Maria.

ATB distribution pipeline repair work is expected to be completed according to estimated time specified, if there are no technical obstacles in the field.

The water supply will flow gradually during the recovery period after work is done.

"After the work is done, the water supply flows in stages, the closest customers from production area get the earlier supply, whereas customers who are at the end of pipeline and at high elevation will need time to get water," Maria said.
