Head of BP Batam, Rudi Admits Not All Ports in Batam Have Thermal Scanners

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Head of Batam Business Entity (BP) Muhammad Rudi said the flight stop was a decision from travel China.

"Just being contacted by Head of Airport, Director of Hang Nadim Batam Airport Business Entity, Suwarso, that flights from China to here have been stopped. They stopped travel, so it was not from us," Rudi told media crews at Asrama Haji, Monday (1/27) / 2020).

The return of tourists from China to their home countries will be done on Tuesday (1/28/2020) tomorrow.

This is a form of anticipation of Corona virus spread in Batam.

"What you (reporters) have asked has been heard. So tomorrow, returning those from here to their home country. Those who stopped the flight, yes, not us," said Rudi again.

Rudi doesn't know how long the flight stops. He hopes that if Corona virus problem is over, his side will open flights again.

"When the Corona issue is over, they will send again," he said.

Rudi also claimed to be grateful, without the decision of regional head in Batam, China finally stopped flights to Batam.

So there is no need for the Government to issue a policy.

"But we are thankful, because without the decision of regional head, they stopped. So it has stopped itself. There is no need for us to issue a decision to stop it," he said.

Director of Hang Nadim Batam Airport Business Agency (BUBU), Suwarso, confirmed the flight's stop on Monday (1/27/2020).

"Yes, that's right. Starting tomorrow, it will be stopped," he told the media.

Beside that, Suwarso also said that some tourists from China in Batam would be sent back to their home countries.

"There are still three more groups that will be repatriated. Tonight is also there. They use an Airbus 320 type Batik Air plane," he continued.

Suwarso also ensured that Batik Air plane itself would send these tourists to China, and would return home with no passengers at all afterwards.
