TRIBUNBATAM.id - The spread of the Corona virus has become a concern for many parties.

Since the news of the Corona virus spreading out to the public, the hotel began to anticipate its spread by installing a thermal scanner. 

"Since the Chinese New Year we have started to install. Moreover, tourist visits at our hotel are mostly from China," said one security officer, Agus told to Tribun Batam, Friday (02/07/2020). 

He said, every tourist must pass the test of this temperature gauge first. 

Meanwhile, the Executive Head Sales and Marketing of I Hotel, Dita said that foreign tourist visits began to decline. 

The decrease was very significant to reach 20 percent.

"Usually we can 100 percent full a day. But now only 70 percent," he said.

Not only that, many hotel guests from several countries have also canceled travel plans to Batam.

"There are from China, Vietnam, and Japan. This is certainly our concern, hopefully about this virus can be found a solution," continued Dita.

Dita also explained, every guest at the hotel was also carried out checking with a thermal scanner first.  

If the detected body temperature is above 38 degrees Celsius, the hotel will immediately bring the guest to the Batam City Government referral hospital.
