Luhut Mentioned There Are 30 Investors Interested in the New Capital Project
There were 30 foreign and domestic investors interested on investing in mega project of the new Capital City (Ibu Kota Negara (IKN)) of Indonesia.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that there were 30 foreign and domestic investors interested on investing in mega project of the new Capital City (Ibu Kota Negara (IKN)) of Indonesia.
"Many partner investors are interested in building a new capital city of the country. I have just sent a list of almost 30 large companies that want to participate. They are from domestic and abroad," Luhut said in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/26/2020) .
The investors will be involved in the development of environmentally friendly projects. Because, according to Luhut, this IKN will be applied to green energy or environmentally friendly energy.
Luhut added, there are investors involved in the construction of IKN that are engaged in transportation, electricity, water pumping companies, and many more that he cannot mention.
"All we ask for is high quality. We don't want no green there," he said.
Meanwhile, investors from abroad, there are signals from the United States wanting to invest. Meanwhile, Japan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia and China, first expressed interest in investing in new capital projects.
President Joko Widodo previously said that the national capital was moved to some areas in the District of Kutai Kartanegara and Penajam Paser Utara (PPU). The new capital will stand on an area of 225,000 hectares.
For the initial stage of development, which is predicted to begin in the second semester of 2020, it will use state budget funds.
The rest, for other facilities, such as entertainment, hospitals, and shopping centers will use the Government and Business Entity Cooperation scheme. (*)
